Now that dust has settled from an amazing Olympics for team GB, we now turn our attentions to our sporting stars of the Paralympics, and here at MNC, we can’t wait for it to start!
Great Britain will have a team consisting of 264 athletes who will compete across 19 sports. Since the inception of the first official Olympic games in 1960, Great Britain have never finished outside the top 5 in the medal table.
In London 2012, Team GB won 120 medals, 34 of which were gold. This tally saw them finish third behind China and Russia. In the Team GB camp, there are high hopes that they will be able to surpass the amazing achievements of London 2012.
Despite all the well documented problems around the funding for the paralympic games in Rio, we believe that all the athletes will put on an amazing spectacle and inspire people living with disability to get involved in physical and sporting activity.
