With football fever at its peak and the home nations doing brilliantly in Euro 2016, there has never been a better time for people to get involved in Football. Unfortunately, for someone living with disability, this may not be as easy as digging out a ball from the shed and blowing the cobwebs off the old boots. “Don’t Quit, Do It” campaign aims to change this.

The campaign aims to encourage and inspire disabled people to get involved in sport. There are 9.4 million people with disabilities in the UK, but only one in six take part in sport regularly. The campaign aims to improve this figure and get many more people with disabilities involved in sporting activity.

Former Liverpool and England legend, John Barnes, has thrown himself into the campaign, recently taking a trip to Portsmouth to play with Portsmouth Amputees F.C. He really wants people to get behind the campaign and show their support for inclusive sport for all.

Disability sport can play a key role in rehabilitation and recovery for someone who has suffered life-changing injuries and can aid in them living a very full and active life.
